Hardware Acceleration
What is hardware acceleration?

Hardware acceleration, as its name implies, refers to the use of computer hardware to improve task execution efficiency and get jobs done at a faster speed than that in a software program running on a general-purpose CPU. Usually, when it comes to hardware acceleration, it means CPU and GPU hardware acceleration for video decoding and encoding or image pixel block calculation and processing. A typical example of CPU hardware acceleration is Intel Quick Sync Video and the representatives of GPU acceleration include Nvidia CUDA, Nvidia NVENC, AMD APP, and more.

When should I use hardware acceleration?

You can choose to turn on hardware acceleration when you need to do graphically intensive tasks like batch processing 4K photos and images, and using the AI features in LosslessImage, etc. Additionally, ensure you have modern graphics card drivers, video cards, and the latest versions of applications to avoid compatibility issues.

Why is hardware acceleration not working on my computer?

LosslessImage can automatically detect your hardware information. If you prefer to check it manually, go to "Settings" at the top-right corner of the software interface. This will show whether your computer has the necessary configuration to use Hardware Acceleration.

Additionally, if hardware acceleration is not working on your computer, consider the following steps:
Update GPU Drivers: Upgrade your GPU driver to the latest version to ensure compatibility and performance

Technical Questions
Can photos be processed in batches?

Yes, you can process photos in batches for LosslessImage, you can directly process all photos and pictures in the folder, or enhance each one individually.

How to increase image resolution without losing quality?

LosslessImage uses deep learning models trained on high-resolution image datasets. These models predict and reconstruct missing details by analyzing patterns in the input image, ensuring lossless enhancement of image quality.

What file formats are supported?

LosslessImage supports most common image formats, such as PNG, JPG, PBM, XBM, JPEG, PGM, PPM, XPM, TIFF, WEBP, BMP, AVIF, etc.

Can I use it for processing 4K/8K images?

Yes. LosslessImage supports upscaling to resolutions above 100 megapixels (e.g. 16000x16000 pixels) using an AI algorithm optimized for high-DPI output.

Can I use it on macOS and Windows?

Yes, LosslessImage supports Windows 7/8/10/11 and macOS 10.13 and above. check system requirements.
